Pet owner shoots, kills vet tech during argument at animal clinic, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – An employee of a veterinary clinic in Kentucky was shot and killed by a pet owner during an argument, police said. Veterinary technician Trent “TJ” Taylor, 21, was killed Sunday in a shooting at Shively Animal Clinic just south of Louisville. According to Shively police, the investigation is still ongoing, and officers are still interviewing dozens of witnesses. Plea for tough regulation amid explosion in incidents of animal cruelty

The call has been made by animal-welfare charities after an alarming surge in complaints over cruelty to animals over the past two years. In Kerry, a pony had to be rescued from an upstairs building, while in Tipperary 27 dogs were found in appalling conditions, suffering much from parasitic diseases, while variously chained to a tree, or locked in metal cages. A new program from the PEI Humane Society has brought a lot of happiness to the first Islanders participating in it. SPCA offers free pet health screening for low-income Singapore households

SINGAPORE: This weekend, 77 cats, 25 dogs, four rabbits, three hamsters and one chinchilla underwent health checks as part of a program that lets low-income households receive veterinary care for their pets. The initiative by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was launched on Saturday (May 13) at Marsiling, where the first of 10 pet health screenings was held.
